The construction of a 700-square-foot Discovery Center at the Park represents the Trustee's vision for a dedicated educational space, making it our "ultimate" project. This facility will offer a secure environment to showcase historical artifacts, conduct educational events for learners of all ages, and provide climate-controlled storage for materials used in SCF’s educational programs. The facility may also have potential for business or social gatherings.
Throughout the year, the Park hosts regular music gatherings, nature walks, meetings, weddings, family reunions, and various events. Hundreds of students visit for field trips, while many others attend events or hike the trails. Construction will be near primitive campsites, several miles of trails and ADA accessible amenities which include, a large pavilion, an outdoor kitchen, modern restrooms, and a quarter mile of accessible paved trail leading to an observation deck. Much of the existing facilities have been constructed by volunteers with funding from individual donors and grants.
